A squircle is not a rounded rectangle

Maxing the radius still looks like a sticker.

iOS Home Screen uses continuous curvature, not CSS border-radius. The 2025-12-10 build put Squircle and gradient editing on the same path.

Left is a rounded rect. Right is continuous curvature. iOS Home Screen uses the latter.

When to enable it

iOS or iOS-adjacent marketing: Squircle on, padding on, no clear fill. Apple paints the mask.

Android: do not treat Squircle as the final shape. Adaptive masks still crop. Pull the foreground in. See guidelines.

Windows / Web: square or clear fills are common. Squircle as preview is fine. As the only source of truth, no.

Gradients became usable in the same release. Two stops plus an angle cover most brands. A third stop lives in presets.

Hi-DPI preview blur was tightened in 1.1.5. If you still judge pixels on an old preview, update.

Do not

  • Do not ship a circle as an iOS icon. The store applies another mask.
  • Do not put type on the Squircle edge. Guides exist — they stay off the ZIP.
  • Do not draw a new radius per platform first. Export one set, fix the end that fails.

Next: sit it on the canvas, see the device.
